Mind Set ListThis list is an interesting perspective on college freshman. While you read it, think about your own students and the schema that they view the world. Choose another class graduation year (maybe even your own), how have perspectives changed in five years? Ten years?

Classroom Blogs

Tim Shanahan- Literacy Blog

This week you will create your own blog. Your blog will become your reflection journal. Part of your assignment is to email your instructor the URL to your blog. I will then post the URL's on a page in this wiki. We can then reflect and respond to others over the course of this class. The site that we will all use for our blog is called EduBlogs.

Blog Reflection Topic:
How does the technology used within the classroom today differ from when you were in school? Where do you see technology integration evolving in the future?

For Next Week:

- Post to Blog response (Make sure you email me your blog's URL, so we can come and visit!)
- Reading --

There are two readings on the following document.
  • The first reading explains some basic ways to use technology to incorporate before, during, and after reading strategies. Post one of the ways they suggest OR something you use in your classroom.
  • The second reading will get you thinking about the 15 ways that web 2.0 technology can be used to "update" reading. Article is geared towards librarians and how they can use 2.0 to benefit the entire school. However, w hat do you think about this article? Can you see any of these practices being expanded to your own classrooms? Come with your opinions to class next week :)
